About Rado

Rado, a globally recognised Swiss watch brand that traces its roots to 1917, is singular in its design, innovation and use of revolutionary materials. Ever since its beginnings in Lengnau, Switzerland, Rado has proudly flaunted a pioneering spirit, consistently fulfilling its hallmark philosophy: "if we can imagine it, we can make it".

Only the finest materials and tech comprise Rado watches. As horology specialists, Rado know that hardness and scratch-resistance alone are not enough in selecting fabrics: durability and wearer comfort are equally as important. That's why any Rado timepiece that you invest in will not fail to deliver strong, enduring comfort and efficiency.

After more than 100 years of watchmaking, iconic style and substance remain the key principles of the brand - and Rado continues to showcase its mastery by creating watches with immense visual, practical and popular appeal. Nothing can prevent Rado from achieving its mission to discover, invent and innovate new ways to create premium watches. We mean it when we say that Rado is "the master of materials."

Ceramic Rado Watches

When it comes to materials, high-tech ceramic has played a central role in Rado’s watch designs from the beginning. The ceramic watches are hypoallergenic, lightweight and enduring, making them a joy to wear on the wrist. From smooth matte finishes to shiny metallic, there is an expanding range of colourways in the ceramic collection – each with their own relaxed approach to glamour.

Plasma high-tech ceramic is one of Rado’s forward-thinking materials. Using an innovative extreme heat process, white ceramic is transformed into a unique material with a distinctive metallic shine – but without the use of any metal. Not only does it look superb, but it is also extremely light, tough and comfortable to wear.

Diamonds and Sapphires

As well as the ceramic watches in their collection, Rado’s research in materials has extended to new age diamonds too. Sourcing top-quality diamonds is high on Rado’s agenda. The brand uses stunning white Top Wesselton diamonds to complement their watch designs. All of their stones measure up to the Kimberley process, meaning they aren’t associated with conflict diamonds and assure legitimate trade in rough diamonds.

Sapphire crystal features in all Rado watches and chronographs. Used to create a seamless transition from the bracelet to the case, the result is durable transparency that adds sophistication to each timepiece.

The Rado Watch Collections

When it comes to signature timepieces, Rado’s HyperChrome Men’s collection offers an exceptional range. Classic, versatile and innovative, each piece can be dressed up or down depending on the wearer’s style. Watches in the HyperChrome range are powered by reliable Quartz movement and are water resistant up to 50 metres.

Rado’s Captain Cook collection takes inspiration from the original 1962 look, with modern features for the 21st century. While the vintage aesthetic details remain true, the watches feature some of Rado’s most innovative constructions, including the high-tech ceramic monobloc case, and the premium Rado paramagnetic Nivachron™ hairspring.

The True Thinline range features the thinnest ceramic watches that the brand has ever made. The cases of the Quartz models measure just 4.9mm, making them ultra-lightweight and extremely comfortable to wear. Despite their slim form, each piece still boasts tough durability, scratch resistance and water resistance up to 30 metres.

Whereas the majority of Rado’s collections feature a round face, the True Square range takes on a completely new shape. It’s the brand’s first watch using a high-tech monobloc ceramic square case. Available in styles for men and ladies, the Rado True Square watches are lightweight, durable and come in a range of styles and colourways.
